Hello, and sorry for the delay in responding to your many questions…but I will get to them! I’m guessing I can safely say I’m the only remaining candidate for Iowa Governor who is personally responding to voter questions. Unfortunately, I can’t quit my job as a Natural Resource Biologist at Big Spring Trout Hatchery so I have to juggle my campaign and full-time job managing the trout hatchery as best as possible. In the days when natural resources had proper funding, we had 4 full time employees here, now we are down to just 2 of us.
I am also the only candidate still in the running who is putting the voice of the common voter and the long-term welfare of our natural resources ahead of special interests, big money, or the agenda of specific political party. There are numerous issues that need to be addressed, as well as the process of how we go about solving problems and finding the best solutions. Since I am not running as part of an existing political party, I cannot turn my nomination petition signatures in until July 30.
I don’t have millions to spend on promoting name recognition or through traditional advertising. Word of mouth and sharing information within our family, friends, neighbors, and community is more powerful than money. Part of our statement as voters should be to take back elections from the highest bidder and from the spread and promotion of misinformation.
